Description

Lencolo 8920W is a liquid rheology additive for water-based coatings and pigment concentrates. By selectively being incompatible with the coating system, it forms fine, needle-like crystals under appropriate stirring. The bonding forces between these crystals create a three-dimensional network, imparting strong thixotropic properties and providing excellent anti-settling and anti-sagging performance. During storage, the L-8920W network structure supports pigment and filler particles, effectively preventing sedimentation while increasing viscosity. During application, the applied shear disrupts the network, rapidly lowering viscosity to meet processing requirements. Once the shear is removed, the three-dimensional structure reforms within seconds, preventing sagging of the coating. Being a liquid, L-8920W is easy to add, can be incorporated post-addition, delivers excellent anti-sag performance, and requires only a small dosage

Provides excellent anti-settling performance in water-based pigment concentrates.

Its strong thixotropic flow behavior enhances the anti-sagging properties of coatings and clear coats without adversely affecting overall rheology.

When used in pigment concentrates and subsequently added to coatings, it does not affect the viscosity of the final coating.

No pH or temperature control is required.

Applications

Applicable to various water-based coating systems and water-based pigment/filler concentrates, etc.

Recommended Usage

Adding it prior to the pigment/filler dispersion stage ensures good dispersion and optimal reproducibility of application performance. It can also be added post-dispersion for viscosity adjustment.

Recommended addition levels: Anti-settling effect 0.1-0.3% Anti-sag 0.5-1.2%

Precautions

When co-grinding or preparing pigment concentrates (incorporated into the grinding base), the additive must be added last to the grinding base and dispersed under typical grinding conditions.

The additive can be pre-diluted with glycol-type solvents to facilitate more uniform incorporation; however, the storage stability of pre-diluted additive is limited, and it should be used immediately.

Storage Conditions

To prevent the product from polymerization and gelling, please keep it sealed and away from heat and light. Recommended storage temperature is not higher than 30°C. Unused products must be sealed and stored in a timely manner and cannot be stored in the open. Safe storage time is 6 months at room temperature( 25ºC) and under ventilation. 25KG/barrel
