Description

Lencolo 8900 is a thixotropic agent prepared by pre-swelling fatty acid amide wax in xylene to form a paste. It can be used in a wide range of media, including low- and medium-polarity systems. Its swollen structure provides high mechanical strength, excellent heat resistance, and long-term stability. Being a fully swollen paste, it can be easily dispersed by simple stirring at room temperature, allowing it to effectively perform anti-settling and anti-sagging functions. As a result, it delivers outstanding performance in automotive coatings, preventing the sedimentation of aluminum and pearlescent mica while enhancing orientation.

Applications

It can be used in virtually all solvent-based synthetic resin coatings, particularly automotive paints and automotive refinish coatings, including epoxy resins, amino resins, polyurethane resins, chlorinated rubber, vinyl resins, unsaturated polyester resins, acrylic resins, and baked coatings.

It is also compatible with UV-curable systems.

Recommended Usage

Direct dispersion using a high-speed disperser is recommended.

- When used as an anti-settling agent, the recommended addition level is 0.5–2.0%.

- When using the anti-sagging agent, the dosage: 1.0～5.0%

For improved dispersibility and practical convenience, a semi-finished product can be prepared in advance.

Semi-finished product preparation: Mix 25 parts resin, 50 parts xylene or toluene, and 25 parts 8900, then disperse at high speed for 15 minutes before use.

Alternatively, the product can be directly dispersed in xylene using a high-speed disperser.

Storage Conditions

To prevent the product from polymerization and gelling, please keep it sealed and away from heat and light. Recommended storage temperature is not higher than 30°C. Unused products must be sealed and stored in a timely manner and cannot be stored in the open. Safe storage time is 6 months at room temperature( 25ºC) and under ventilation. 16KG/barrel
