Description

Lencolo 8910 is a liquid rheology additive suitable for both solvent-based and solvent-free coatings.

By selectively being incompatible with the coating system, it forms fine, needle-like crystals under appropriate stirring. The bonding forces between these crystals create a three-dimensional network, imparting strong thixotropic properties and providing excellent anti-settling and anti-sagging performance. During storage, the L-8910 network structure supports pigment and filler particles, effectively preventing their sedimentation while increasing viscosity. During application, the applied shear disrupts the network, rapidly lowering viscosity to meet processing requirements. Once the shear is removed, the three-dimensional structure reforms within seconds, preventing sagging of the coating. Being a liquid, L-8910 is easy to add, can be incorporated post-addition, delivers excellent anti-sag performance, and requires only a small dosage.

Suitable for improving the anti-settling performance of pigment systems, 8910 also enhances the anti-sagging properties of coatings and clear coats due to its strong thixotropic flow behavior, without adversely affecting overall rheology.

It is most suitable for medium-polarity systems and is not recommended for non-polar resin systems containing aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents.

Applications

Solvent-based coating systems, solvent-free coatings, UV coatings, etc.

Recommended Usage

Suitable polar solvents include butanol, ethanol, butyl glycol, and butyl glycol ether;

Suitable non-polar solvents include aromatics, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and butyl acetate, to be added selectively.

Recommended diluting solvent ratio:

a) Xylene + n-butanol = 80:20 b) Butyl acetate + butyl glycol ether = 75:25

Recommended addition levels:

Anti-settling effect 0.1-0.3% ; Anti-sag 0.5-1.2%

Precautions

The solvents in this product are hydrophilic and sensitive to moisture. To prevent any impact on storage stability, containers must be tightly sealed after use. In highly polar systems, incompatibility may lead to crystallization or phase separation.

Storage Conditions

To prevent the product from polymerization and gelling, please keep it sealed and away from heat and light. Recommended storage temperature is not higher than 30°C. Unused products must be sealed and stored in a timely manner and cannot be stored in the open. Safe storage time is 6 months at room temperature( 25ºC) and under ventilation. 25KG/barrel
